Q1For the pairs (12, 36), (15, 45), (18, 54) and (21, 64), one of the following statements is incorrect. Choose that statement.
The main relation in the pairs is multiplication by 3. In (12, 36), 12 × 3 = 36. In (15, 45), 15 × 3 = 45. In (18, 54), 18 × 3 = 54. For (21, 64), the expected second number would be 21 × 3 = 63, so this pair is the odd one. Therefore the statement claiming that (15, 45) is odd because both numbers end in 5 is the incorrect statement.
Q2Read the assertion and reason, then choose the correct option. Assertion: In the group JKM, QRT, UVX, BCD, the odd one out is BCD. Reason: In JKM, QRT and UVX the letters are consecutive, but in BCD they are not consecutive.
Check the letter positions in each group. JKM has positions 10, 11, 13; QRT has 17, 18, 20; and UVX has 21, 22, 24. In these three groups, the second letter is one position after the first, and the third letter is two positions after the second. BCD has positions 2, 3, 4, so its letters are fully consecutive. Therefore BCD is indeed the odd one out. However, the reason says BCD is not consecutive, which is false. Hence the assertion is true, but the reason is false.
Q3In three of the following number pairs, the second number is the square of the first number. Which pair is the odd one out?
Apply the same relation to every pair: the second number should be the square of the first. For 12, 12 × 12 = 144. For 15, 15 × 15 = 225. For 18, 18 × 18 = 324. For 21, however, 21 × 21 = 441, not 431. Therefore the pair 21, 431 does not follow the common rule and is the odd one out.
Q4Match each item in List I with its correct class in List II, then choose the correct code. List I: I. Rose, II. Copper, III. Sparrow, IV. Cricket List II: 1. Bird, 2. Insect, 3. Flower, 4. Metal
Classify each item by its direct, everyday category. Rose is a flower, so I matches 3. Copper is a metal, so II matches 4. Sparrow is a bird, so III matches 1. Cricket is an insect, so IV matches 2. This gives the code I-3, II-4, III-1, IV-2. The other codes make at least one clear category error, such as treating copper as a bird or rose as an insect. Therefore, option A is correct.
Q5Choose the group of numbers that is different from the other three.
In 18, 24, 30, each number is 6 times 3, 4 and 5, so the ratio is 3:4:5. In 21, 28, 35, dividing by 7 again gives 3, 4 and 5. In 27, 36, 45, dividing by 9 gives 3, 4 and 5. But 20, 25, 30 reduce to 4:5:6, not 3:4:5. Therefore 20, 25, 30 is the different group.

8Assertion: In the group 7, 11, 13, 15, the odd one out is 15. Reason: 7, 11 and 13 are prime numbers, while 15 is a composite number. Choose the correct option.
9Read the statements and choose the set in which the odd item has been identified correctly. I. 64, 125, 216, 343: 343 is odd because it is not a cube. II. Car, Bus, Truck, Bicycle: Bicycle is odd because it is not motor-driven. III. Doctor, Nurse, Teacher, Compounder: Teacher is odd because the others are hospital-related workers. IV. January, March, June, July: June is odd because it has 30 days while the others have 31 days.
