Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on April 11, 2026 inaugurated the three-day Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026 at Dashehra Maidan in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. The event, scheduled from April 11 to April 13, is organised on the initiative of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and brings together over 300 exhibitors, with more than 50,000 farmers expected to attend across the three days. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and agricultural scientists from across India attended the inaugural ceremony. The festival features live demonstrations of modern agricultural technologies including agri-drones, solar pumps and micro-irrigation systems, alongside exhibitions of modern tractors, advanced seeds and fertilisers, and dedicated stalls on organic farming, dairy, poultry and fisheries. Twenty topics spanning the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture to integrated farming will be discussed by experts across four parallel seminar halls. Free training sessions and structured interactions between farmers and agricultural scientists are designed to transfer precision farming knowledge directly to the field. The closing ceremony on April 13 will be addressed by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, who is expected to release a dedicated agriculture roadmap for Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore and surrounding districts, linking farm development with logistics infrastructure.
