The first meeting of the National Level Policy Implementation and Monitoring Committee (NLIMC) under the National Cooperation Policy-2025 (NCP-2025) was held on June 9, 2026, at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Committee.

NCP-2025 is structured around 6 strategic pillars, 16 objectives, and 83 recommendations. The six strategic pillars are: (1) strengthening the cooperative foundation; (2) making cooperatives vibrant and competitive; (3) preparing cooperatives for the future; (4) expanding inclusiveness and outreach; (5) enhancing cooperatives' role in new and emerging sectors; and (6) connecting youth with cooperative development.

The meeting reviewed progress on several key initiatives including the transformation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) into multipurpose service centres, development of model cooperative villages in every district, implementation of ERP-based management systems for cooperatives, and expansion of dairy and fishery cooperatives.

Representatives from multiple ministries participated in the meeting, including Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Food Processing Industries, and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The NLIMC serves as a high-level body to oversee the implementation of NCP-2025 and coordinate efforts across ministries to strengthen the cooperative sector in India.
