The National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL), a Multi-State Cooperative Society under the Ministry of Cooperation, has expanded significantly with 181 cooperative societies from North Eastern states joining its network. NCOL markets organic products under the Bharat Organics brand, which has already launched 27 products including pulses, rice, and organic flours.

MOUs have been signed with all NE state nodal agencies to streamline supply chains for regional specialty products like Lakadong turmeric from Meghalaya, known for its high curcumin content. The initiative supports the Northeast's potential as an organic farming hub, where many areas practice natural farming by default due to limited chemical fertilizer usage. The expansion aligns with India's vision of promoting cooperative-led organic agriculture to boost farmer incomes while meeting growing consumer demand for chemical-free food products.
