Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on November 19, 2025. The three-day summit (November 19–21) was organised by the Tamil Nadu Natural Farming Stakeholders Forum. PM Modi emphasised that natural farming is India's own indigenous idea rooted in ancient traditions and suited to the country's environment, and that excessive chemical fertilisers are depleting soil fertility. He also released the 21st installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, transferring ₹18,000 crore directly to the bank accounts of farmers across India — bringing cumulative transfers under the scheme to ₹4 lakh crore benefiting small and marginal farmers. The summit featured 300 exhibition stalls, interactive sessions with scientists and policy makers, live demonstrations of natural farming techniques, and a focus on youth and women farmers. The government highlighted that natural farming reduces input costs, improves soil health, and enhances farmer income — key goals of the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY). Agricultural exports from India have nearly doubled over the past eleven years, and the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme has disbursed over ₹10 lakh crore to farmers this year.
