Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched the Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026 and the National AI Literacy Programme known as YUVA AI for All at the Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference held at JECC, Jaipur on January 6, 2026. The policy aims to strengthen governance, accelerate economic growth, foster research and innovation, and generate high-value employment in the state through artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.

Key initiatives under the policy include the iStart Learning Management System for AI-driven education and skill development, the Rajasthan AI Innovation Hub for incubating startups, and integration of AI solutions in public service delivery, agriculture, healthcare, and urban governance. The YUVA AI for All programme, a flagship initiative of the Government of India under the IndiaAI Mission led by MeitY, targets training one million youth in foundational AI skills through a four-hour self-paced course.

The policy positions Rajasthan as a leading state in AI adoption and aims to attract technology investments and create a skilled workforce for emerging digital industries. It establishes guidelines for responsible and ethical AI use in government functions while promoting data-driven decision-making across departments.

The Rajasthan Cabinet had approved the AI-ML Policy 2026 on January 7, making it one of the first states to have a comprehensive AI policy framework. The policy aligns with India's National AI Strategy and supports the government's vision of making AI accessible to every citizen, household, and enterprise. Rajasthan's initiative could serve as a model for other states pursuing digital transformation in governance.
