The Ministry of Panchayati Raj organised the Regional Workshop titled Seva Se Samriddhi on Panchayat Led Service Delivery at Guwahati, Assam on 29 May 2026 to operationalise the vision of the Panchayat as the first port of call for government services. The workshop was chaired by the Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Shri S P Singh Baghel along with Shri Atul Bora, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development of the Government of Assam, while Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, led the deliberations on digital transformation, multilingual citizen interfaces and last mile delivery. The event brought together elected representatives and functionaries of Panchayats, Village Level Entrepreneurs of Common Services Centre Special Purpose Vehicle, state government officials and partners from seven states, namely host Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Telangana. Representatives of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, BHASHINI translation mission, academic institutions, civil society organisations and digital public infrastructure partners also participated. Discussions covered Panchayat Development Plans under the Gram Panchayat Development Plan framework, the Seva Se Samriddhi e Saksham Gram Panchayat model, geo tagged asset registries, the Panchayat Voluntary Disclosure Index, citizen feedback mechanisms, and the use of Direct Benefit Transfer and Aadhaar enabled Payment Systems for transparent delivery of Central and State schemes such as MGNREGS, PMAY G, Jal Jeevan Mission, PM SVANidhi and PM JANMAN.
