The Indian Army hosted the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries (UNTCC) Chiefs' Conclave 2025 in New Delhi from October 14–16, marking the first time India led such a global peacekeeping forum. Chiefs and senior representatives from 32 nations attended, including Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, France, Italy, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, and Vietnam, alongside senior UN officials. The conclave focussed on leveraging technology in UN peacekeeping with 15 industry leaders participating in a Defence Expo featuring 41 exhibitors across 9 operational domains showcasing indigenous weapon systems. Key outcomes included a unanimous agreement for inclusive decision-making strengthening the role of troop-contributing nations, realistic mandates prioritising peacekeeper safety, and use of cost-effective indigenous technologies. India is the largest historical contributor to UN peacekeeping missions, with over 2.5 lakh troops deployed since 1948.
