The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on June 10, 2026 that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a six-day official visit to France and Slovakia from June 13 to 18, 2026. This will mark India's 13th participation in the G7 Summit and PM Modi's 7th consecutive participation.

The visit begins with PM Modi travelling to Nice, France on June 13–14, where he will hold bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders will jointly inaugurate the 'Bharat Innovates' event in Nice, bringing together top innovation startups and venture capital funds from India, France, and other countries.

From June 14 to 16, PM Modi will visit Slovakia at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. This will be the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country gained independence following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993 — a significant milestone in India-Slovakia bilateral relations.

PM Modi will then participate in the 52nd G7 Summit at Evian, France on June 16–17. India participates as a partner nation and will engage in discussions on forging new international partnerships, rebuilding global solidarity, promoting balanced and sustainable economic growth, and ensuring a safe and efficient rollout of artificial intelligence.

On June 18, PM Modi will travel to Paris to attend VivaTech Summit — Europe's largest technology and startup event — reflecting India's growing stature as a global technology and innovation hub.

India and the United States are also exploring the possibility of a bilateral meeting between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 Summit. MEA Secretary (West) Sibi George made the official announcement regarding this visit.
