Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on 30 May 2026 attended the Ninth State Convention of the Rajasthan Municipality Employees Federation at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur as Chief Guest, with Urban Development and Local Self Government Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra as Special Guest. Addressing nearly 5,000 functionaries drawn from urban local bodies across the state, the Chief Minister described municipal employees as the backbone of urban cleanliness, swachhata mission delivery and core citizen services such as water supply, street lighting, sanitation, building plan approvals and birth-death registration. He assured the gathering of time-bound resolution of long-pending demands including review of ministerial cadre posts, pending promotions, expansion of Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) coverage, and quick disposal of pension cases of retired municipal employees. The convention was organised against the backdrop of the state-wide Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan-2026 running from 25 May to 5 June 2026 and the Rajasthan government push to make state cities national leaders in sanitation under the Swachh Bharat Mission - Urban 2.0. The Chief Minister underlined that the Bhajanlal government remains committed to dignity of municipal labour and seamless service to citizens, in line with the Viksit Rajasthan @ 2047 vision approved by the Cabinet earlier in May 2026, and urged employees to stay away from corrupt conduct and uphold transparency in service delivery.
