The annual Pushkar Camel Fair 2025 commenced in Ajmer district, Rajasthan, in late October 2025, attracting thousands of domestic and international tourists. The fair, one of the world's largest camel fairs, is held around the Kartik Purnima festival on the shores of the sacred Pushkar Lake. It features camel trading, folk music, Ghoomar dance, turban-tying contests, and the famous 'camel beauty pageant'. The event is a flagship cultural tourism initiative of the Rajasthan Government's Department of Tourism, drawing significant foreign exchange and spotlighting Rajasthan's intangible cultural heritage. Pushkar is also home to the only Brahma temple in the world, adding religious tourism value to the fair.
