Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated India's first National Guava Festival in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, on January 18, 2026, coinciding with the city's 263rd Foundation Day. Sawai Madhopur received its current plan from Maharaja Sawai Madho Singhji I in 1765 AD. The two-day event combined a Tiger Festival and Guava Festival, reflecting the region's wildlife heritage and agricultural strength.

A ₹110 crore guava processing unit was announced for Sawai Madhopur. Guava cultivation in the district spans over 15,000 hectares with annual production of around 4 lakh metric tonnes, generating business worth ₹6-7 billion yearly. The festival featured sessions on smart farming, drone technology, high-tech horticulture, and exhibitions of value-added guava products including juice, jelly, squash, pulp, barfi, and chutney.
