Jaipur launched Rajasthan's first state-level Ghoomar Festival, organized simultaneously across all seven divisional headquarters of the state. Ghoomar, traditionally performed to celebrate auspicious occasions such as marriages and festivals, symbolizes joy, grace, and womanhood.

The dance originated with the Bhil tribe honouring Goddess Saraswati and was later refined by Rajput royal households. Dancers wear colourful ghaghra-cholis and odhnis with characteristic swirling skirt movements. The festival aims to preserve and promote Rajasthan's intangible cultural heritage, with Ghoomar being a key element of the state's cultural identity.
