Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi inaugurated a two-day forest fair at Sajjangarh in Udaipur on January 17, 2026. The fair aims to promote forest products and strengthen rural-tribal livelihoods by providing a direct marketplace for forest-based goods including honey, medicinal herbs, gum, lac, and handcrafted bamboo products.

Rajasthan has approximately 92 lakh tribal population (13.5% of state population), largely concentrated in the southern districts of Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur, and Pratapgarh. The fair is part of the state's push to implement the Forest Rights Act more effectively and ensure tribal communities benefit from Minor Forest Produce (MFP) through MSP and Van Dhan Vikas Kendras.
