The Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training (RSCERT) launched 'Khushi Shala', a pioneering mental health and well-being initiative for students in classes 1-5, making Rajasthan the first state in India to introduce such a programme in primary education.

After a successful 2024 pilot with 120 teachers and 1,300+ students that showed 91% teacher satisfaction, the programme is scaling statewide through the public school system to reach 3.3 million+ children annually. The evidence-based curriculum helps children notice sensations, name emotions, and share thoughts openly. The state aims to train teachers to integrate well-being practices into daily classroom routines.
