The Government of Rajasthan has launched 'Praveshotsav 2026', a large-scale school enrolment campaign that commenced with the start of the academic session 2026–27 on April 1, 2026. The campaign was widely covered by Rajasthan Patrika and Dainik Bhaskar in their April 5, 2026 editions.

The campaign targets enrolment of 1.45 crore students in Rajasthan's government schools and is designed to increase enrolment, reduce dropout rates, and ensure every child aged 3 to 18 years is connected to formal education. Over 14,000 officers and 4 lakh teachers have been mobilised across the state to conduct door-to-door surveys and outreach.

The outreach is being carried out in phases — on March 27, April 6, April 10, and April 15, 2026 — with teams comprising Anganwadi workers, school teachers, panchayat representatives, and government officers visiting households to identify out-of-school children. Special emphasis is placed on enrolling children aged 5–6 years transitioning from Anganwadi centres to Class 1.

A significant policy change has been introduced alongside the campaign: Rajasthan has lowered the minimum admission age for Class 1 from 6 years to 5 years for the 2026–27 academic session. This is a major shift aimed at synchronising admission timelines with Anganwadi graduation patterns and preventing migration to private schools.

The campaign also integrates a digital health check-up programme for students and promotes foundational learning activities. School Management Committees (SMCs) are being actively engaged to ensure community participation.

For RAS aspirants, education governance, enrolment campaigns, and Right to Education (RTE) framework are core topics under Paper II (Rajasthan GK) and the Governance section of Paper III.
