A two-day zonal review conference organised by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, was held in Udaipur, Rajasthan on January 8-9, 2026. The conference reviewed the progress of cooperative societies in the western zone states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa, and Maharashtra.

Key discussions centred on strengthening primary agricultural credit societies (PACS), computerisation of cooperative societies, and expansion of dairy cooperatives. Rajasthan has over 65,000 cooperative societies serving 2.5 crore members. The conference highlighted the potential for setting up multi-purpose PACS as Common Service Centres (CSCs) to deliver government services in rural areas.
