India and Cuba signed an extension of a Memorandum of Understanding on Ayurvedic cooperation on the sidelines of the WHO Traditional Medicine Summit. The MoU includes establishing an AYUSH Chair at a Cuban Medical University and a Panchakarma Centre in Havana.

This is part of India's broader strategy to promote AYUSH systems globally through bilateral agreements. India has signed AYUSH-related MoUs with over 40 countries. A Panchakarma Centre in Havana was established in 2019 with technical support from the Ministry of Ayush. Cuba has shown increasing interest in integrating Ayurvedic practices into its renowned public healthcare system.
