Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya announced that Rajasthan will host the 5th edition of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG 2025) from November 24 to December 5, 2025, across seven cities — Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur. 4,448 athletes from 222 universities competed in 23 medal sports and one demonstration sport (Kho-Kho). For the first time, beach volleyball, canoeing and kayaking, and cycling are being introduced in KIUG. The games began with the inaugural edition in February 2020. Mandaviya described KIUG as a 'stepping stone to glory' for university-level athletes. The event is part of India's broader Khelo India mission to identify and nurture sporting talent from grassroots level.
