Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena launched the "Aapno Khet–Aapni Khaad" (My Field–My Fertilizer) campaign on April 6, 2026, running through April 30, 2026. The state-wide awareness initiative aims to reduce farmer dependence on chemical fertilizers such as DAP and Urea, and transition them toward organic and natural alternatives.
The campaign promotes green manures — including sunn hemp (dhaincha), cowpea, and cluster beans — alongside vermicompost, and biofertilizers such as Rhizobium, Azotobacter, and Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB). Indigenous preparations like Jeevamrit and Panchagavya are central to the outreach, offering low-cost, farm-prepared nutrient solutions.
Awareness activities include district-level farmer meetings, village night-chaupal sessions, and school-linked awareness marches. Key institutions participating include Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), ICAR institutions, and women Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The campaign is linked to Soil Health Card data, enabling targeted interventions based on individual farm nutrient profiles.
The drive aligns with Rajasthan's broader agricultural sustainability goals, reducing input costs for farmers while improving soil organic carbon and long-term fertility. Chemical fertilizer overuse has caused soil degradation across the state's semi-arid zones, and this campaign represents a practical step toward reversing that trend through community-led education.
