On November 26, 2025, the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow formally ratified Amdavad (Ahmedabad), Gujarat, as the host city of the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games — after a vote by delegates of 74 Commonwealth member nations and territories. The recommendation had been made on October 15, 2025, when Commonwealth Sport's bid evaluation commission announced India's selection. The 2030 Games will be India's second Commonwealth Games (after Delhi 2010) and the centenary (100th anniversary) edition of the Games. The sports programme will feature 15–17 sports including Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis, Bowls, Weightlifting, Artistic Gymnastics, Netball, Boxing, and their para-sport counterparts, with T20 Cricket also on the table. The Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, opened in September 2025 at a cost of ₹825 crore across 21 acres, is a key venue. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya hailed it as 'a huge moment for Indian sports'. India is the 5th Asian country to host the Games after Malaysia (1998), South Korea (2002), India (2010), and Australia (Gold Coast, 2018). The 2030 Games are scheduled for October 2030 in Ahmedabad.
