Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism and Arts & Culture Minister Diya Kumari announced that the state-level Ghoomar Festival 2025, organised by the Rajasthan Tourism Department, was held for the first time simultaneously at all seven divisional headquarters of Rajasthan — Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota, and Bharatpur — on November 19, 2025. The state-level celebration took place at the football ground of Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur, where women performed the traditional Ghoomar dance to a specially composed synchronised soundtrack, ensuring unity in rhythm and spirit across all divisions. Chairing a preparatory meeting at the Rajasthan Tourism Bhawan, Diya Kumari said Ghoomar is not just a dance but the cultural identity of Rajasthan and that the festival would serve as a platform to promote the state's traditional art and culture at a global level. Free Ghoomar dance workshops were organised in all seven cities ahead of the event, with a six-day workshop at the Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur running from November 11 to 16, 2025. Participants — including school and college students, homemakers, professional dancers, and working women — registered free of cost on the Rajasthan Tourism Department's official website ghoomar.rajasthan.gov.in. At the Jaipur state-level venue, the Ghoomar dance was performed to live music under the direction of Jyoti Tomar, Executive Director of the Gangaur Ghoomar Dance Academy, with members of the academy and selected performers from Jaipur participating in the showcase. The festival was framed by the state government as a celebration of Rajasthan's cultural essence, women's empowerment, and the timeless beauty of traditional art, with spectators encouraged to attend in traditional Rajasthani attire.
