Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi. This year's theme was "Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat@2047". Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators representing 28 states and 5 Union Territories took part. For the first time, the Chief Ministers of all 28 states attended a Governing Council meeting. The Prime Minister underlined cooperative federalism, stressing that the Centre and states must work together and that the vision of a developed India should become the collective resolve of every state, district, block and village. Highlighting India's demographic strength, he noted that nearly 70 crore Indians are below 25 years of age, and urged states to convert this demographic dividend into a development dividend through education, skilling and capacity building. He encouraged states to create opportunities for youth and MSMEs, leverage recent Free Trade Agreements, and actively attract investment from partner countries. He called for raising the number of Lakhpati Didis from 3 crore to 6 crore, strengthening the One District One Product initiative with export-friendly strategies, and tapping defence manufacturing. He urged coordinated efforts against drug abuse and cyber fraud, promotion of water conservation and natural farming amid El Nino concerns, noting farmers procured 11 lakh tonnes of organic fertiliser this Kharif season. He stressed treating AI as an opportunity and equipping people with future-ready skills. CMs congratulated him on completing 12 years in office.
