Vice-President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan graced the International MSME Day 2026 celebrations at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, on 27 June 2026, organised under the broad spirit of empowering enterprise. Addressing the gathering, he said that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are not merely an economic category but symbolise the courage of first-generation entrepreneurs, the aspirations of youth, the resolve of women entrepreneurs and the resilience of millions of small businesses. He observed that India's journey towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047 will be driven by a vibrant and dynamic MSME sector. The Vice-President urged that every micro enterprise should aspire to become small, and every small enterprise should grow into a medium one, stressing the need for adequate investment, policy support and easy access to finance. He called for universal registration of enterprises to improve data quality and policy-making. Referring to this year's UN theme, "Human-centred entrepreneurship in an AI-powered future," he said technology and Artificial Intelligence should be embraced as opportunities, not threats. On the occasion, he congratulated the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) on receiving Schedule 'A' company status, and launched the PMEGP 2.0 Portal, Samadhaan 2.0 Portal, Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) 2.0 Portal, MSME Global Mart 2.0 Portal, Testing Centre Portal, the Ministry's multilingual enablement initiative and the MSME Idea Hackathon 6.0. He also released e-books on the Self Reliant India (SRI) Fund and the PM Vishwakarma (PMV) Scheme.
