With barely two weeks to go, Rajasthan's preparations for the 5th Khelo India University Games (KIUG 2025) — scheduled from November 24 to December 5, 2025 — are in full swing. More than 5,000 athletes from 200+ universities across India will compete in 23 medal sports across seven cities: Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur. New disciplines being introduced for the first time in KIUG include Beach Volleyball, Canoeing & Kayaking, and Cycling. Kho-Kho will be played as a demonstration sport. The event is organised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in collaboration with the Rajasthan government, the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC), and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). KIUG 2025 is a key moment for Rajasthan to showcase its sports infrastructure and provide university athletes a launchpad towards national and international competitions. Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya described KIUG as a 'stepping stone to glory' for India's youth athletes.
