The Government of Rajasthan, under Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, unveiled the Rajasthan Youth Policy 2026 in early January 2026, aimed at ensuring the all-round development of the state's youth population. The policy establishes a three-tier institutional framework for implementation at the state, district, and block levels. Key focus areas of the policy include education and future-ready skills particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital literacy, and emerging technologies; employment generation through skill development, entrepreneurship support, and industry linkages; health and mental well-being programmes for youth; promotion of sports at grassroots level; social justice and inclusion of youth from marginalised communities; and connecting youth with Rajasthan's rich cultural and historical heritage. The policy identifies youth between 15 and 29 years as its primary target group, consistent with the National Youth Policy 2014 definition. Rajasthan has a young demographic profile with a significant share of its population in the working-age group — making youth policy a critical lever for harnessing the demographic dividend. The policy envisages Rajasthan Youth Councils at district levels as platforms for youth participation in governance and decision-making. It also includes provisions for establishing youth entrepreneurship hubs and mentorship programmes linked to the state's startup ecosystem. The policy is seen as complementary to the Rajasthan Industrial Park Promotion Policy 2026 and other investment-friendly frameworks announced by the Bhajan Lal Sharma government.
