Rajasthan's first state-level Ghoomar Festival 2025 entered the Asia Book of Records on 19 November 2025 after 6,100 women simultaneously performed the traditional Ghoomar dance across all seven divisional headquarters of the state — Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota and Bharatpur — on the same day. The state-level event, organised by the Rajasthan Tourism Department, took place at the football ground of Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur, and was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism and Arts & Culture Minister Diya Kumari, who also performed Ghoomar alongside the participants. The Rajasthan Tourism Department confirmed the record entry on its official social media handles on 19-20 November 2025, describing it as a record-breaking celebration with 6,100 women dancing across seven divisions. The synchronised performance used a specially composed soundtrack that played across all seven venues, creating unified rhythm and choreography. Participants included school and college students, homemakers, professional dancers, and working women who had registered free of cost on ghoomar.rajasthan.gov.in and trained in six-day workshops held from 11 to 16 November 2025 at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur and equivalent venues in the other divisions. The state government announced that large-scale Ghoomar festivals will be organised every year to bring Rajasthan's iconic folk dance to a global stage, with a long-term plan to establish the Ghoomar Festival as a signature cultural symbol of Rajasthan and to explore its inclusion in national and international cultural calendars.
