Rajasthan's Anta Assembly constituency (Baran district) was heading to a bypoll on November 11, 2025 with counting scheduled on November 14. The bypoll was necessitated after BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena was disqualified following his conviction in a criminal case. The Election Commission of India notified the schedule on October 31, 2025, with the constituency having 2,27,563 registered voters across 268 polling stations. Twenty candidates filed nominations, with the primary contest between Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya and BJP's Morpal Suman, and Congress rebel Naresh Meena also in the fray as an independent, creating a triangular contest. The bypoll attracted national attention as it pitted two major parties in a BJP-ruled state, with both sides deploying senior leaders for the campaign. Ultimately, Congress won the seat with Bhaya securing 69,571 votes, defeating BJP by a margin of 15,612 votes with a provisional voter turnout of 80.32%.
