Rajasthan achieved a significant electoral milestone in early December 2025, becoming the first state in India to complete 100% digitisation of electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme. Chief Electoral Officer Navin Mahajan announced this achievement, noting that all voter data across the state had been digitised, verified, and integrated into the Election Commission of India's digital platform. The SIR programme was launched by the Election Commission of India with the objective of updating electoral rolls comprehensively — adding eligible new voters, removing deceased and duplicate entries, and correcting errors in voter details such as names, addresses, and photographs. The digitisation drive involved extensive booth-level officer (BLO) mobilisation, use of the Voter Helpline 1950, and the Voter Registration app. Rajasthan, which has approximately 5.3 crore registered voters spread across 200 assembly constituencies, completed the exercise ahead of other states. The achievement is significant from a governance perspective as it strengthens the integrity and accuracy of voter rolls, reduces electoral fraud, improves voter turnout tracking, and facilitates seamless voter service delivery through digital modes. The Election Commission recognised Rajasthan's achievement as a model for other states to emulate in ensuring free, fair, and inclusive elections.
