Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched the Sahkar Membership Campaign (October 2–15, 2025) to expand the cooperative movement across the state with a focus on women and youth participation. The campaign aims to increase the number of cooperative societies by 10% and targets establishing new Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in 2,158 gram panchayats that currently lack such institutions. The initiative is aligned with the Centre's national cooperative policy and the vision of 'Sahkar se Samriddhi' (Prosperity through Cooperatives). Cooperatives in Rajasthan play a vital role in credit access, agricultural marketing, dairy development and rural employment. The drive is part of the government's broader roadmap under the Developed Rajasthan @2047 Vision Document approved by the State Cabinet in August 2025.
