On January 28, 2026, NITI Aayog launched 'Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0' — a three-month intensive campaign running from January 28 to April 14, 2026 — aimed at achieving full saturation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in India's most underdeveloped regions. The campaign covers 112 Aspirational Districts and 513 Aspirational Blocks under the Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme.

The initiative targets 5 critical KPIs per Aspirational District and 6 KPIs per Aspirational Block, covering domains including health, nutrition, sanitation, education, and animal welfare. Each district and block is required to prepare a 3-month action plan, conduct monthly progress tracking, and implement behaviour change communication campaigns. District-level officers will conduct concurrent monitoring field visits.

The campaign was inaugurated by NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam in the presence of Planning Secretaries, District Collectors, and development partners. Rajasthan has several Aspirational Districts and Blocks — including parts of Baran, Dholpur, and Karauli — benefiting from the campaign's targeted interventions for improving human development indices.
