On October 7–8, 2025, a chemical tanker collided with a parked LPG cylinder truck near Dudu village on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. Over 40 LPG cylinders exploded in a chain reaction, with flames visible 10 kilometres away. The tanker driver was burnt alive. The Jaipur-Ajmer highway was closed from 10 PM and reopened at 4:30 AM after Hindustan Petroleum teams cleared the site. The incident reignited debates on highway safety, regulation of hazardous cargo transport, and emergency response preparedness in Rajasthan.
