Rajasthan observed the 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026 with state-level celebrations held at the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Stadium in Jaipur. Governor Haribhau Kishanrao Bagde unfurled the National Flag and took the salute of the guard of honour, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Vasudev Devnani, Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully, Cabinet Ministers, and other dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, Governor Bagde called Republic Day 'an opportunity to reaffirm commitment to the Constitution', urging citizens to participate actively in building a 'Developed India – Developed Rajasthan' (Viksit Bharat – Viksit Rajasthan). He underscored the importance of upholding the fundamental principles and ideals of the Constitution, honouring the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and strengthening the democratic traditions of India. A key highlight of the state-level ceremony was the presentation of police gallantry and service awards: 17 brave officers of the Rajasthan Police were presented the President's Police Medal and Police Medal in recognition of distinguished service, meritorious service, and gallantry. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also unfurled the National Flag at the Government secretariat, while Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully unfurled the flag at his official residence. Across Rajasthan's 41 districts, Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors presided over district-level Republic Day parades, showcasing the state's administrative machinery, police contingents, school children's cultural presentations, and achievement tableaux. The event reflected Rajasthan's vision of inclusive development, drawing attention to the state's ongoing schemes in agriculture, water conservation, education, and infrastructure.
