Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the Saras Rajsakhi National Fair at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, on December 18, 2025. The fair features approximately 300 stalls from 24 states, showcasing products made by women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The CM interacted with artisans, visited stalls, and lauded the role of women SHGs in rural economic growth and livelihood generation. He held warm interactions with women associated with the Lakhpati Didi initiative — a central government programme targeting rural women to achieve annual earnings of ₹1 lakh or more. The fair will run until January 4, 2026, providing rural women with national-level market exposure and visibility. Chief Minister Sharma emphasised that women SHGs are playing a vital role in strengthening the rural economy, and the Saras platform gives artisans direct access to urban consumers. Rajasthan's SHG network — linked to RGAVP (Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad) — comprises over 3 lakh women SHGs. The fair also showcases Rajasthan's cultural heritage through traditional handicrafts, textiles, and cuisine. The Saras brand, managed by NABARD under the Ministry of Rural Development, promotes rural produce at national and international platforms.
