The 6th International Agronomy Congress (IAC-2025) was inaugurated on November 24, 2025, at the NPL Auditorium, Pusa Campus, New Delhi, by Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The three-day event (November 24–26) is organised by the Indian Society of Agronomy (ISA) in collaboration with ICAR, IARI, NAAS, and TAAS, with over 1,000 scientists, policymakers, and industry experts from India and abroad participating. The theme — 'Re-envisioning Agronomy for Smart Agro-Food Systems and Environmental Protection' — underscores the need for productive, climate-resilient, and sustainable agricultural systems. Chouhan released the IAC-2025 Declaration, with recommendations including promotion of soil-carbon sequestration, water-efficient farming, scaling up AI-based digital agriculture and the Agri-Stack framework, and mainstreaming natural and regenerative agriculture. The Congress is highly relevant to Rajasthan — one of India's largest states by area — where arid agro-climatic conditions, water scarcity, and climate variability threaten agricultural productivity. Key crop sectors of Rajasthan (mustard, bajra, pulses, spices) stand to benefit from advances in precision agronomy, drought-resistant varieties, and digital extension services discussed at IAC-2025.
