Severe Cyclonic Storm Montha, which formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal on October 25, 2025, made landfall near Narasapuram in Andhra Pradesh on the night of October 28–29. Classified as a Severe Cyclonic Storm with sustained winds of 95 km/h, it caused widespread damage across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu, resulting in 8 fatalities and total damage estimated at ₹63,840 crore (US$760 million). 43,000 hectares of crops and 14 bridges were damaged. The IMD issued red/orange alerts for several Rajasthan districts — including Bundi, Udaipur, Pratapgarh, Kota, and Baran — due to the cyclone's moisture-laden circulation. The cyclone's name was contributed by Thailand, meaning 'fragrant flower'.
