The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) celebrated its 65th Foundation Day on September 1, 2025, at its headquarters in New Delhi. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was the chief guest at the ceremony, which marked several important launches aimed at transforming school education in India.

Key launches included the Bal Vatika DTH TV Channel (DTH Channel No. 35) under the PM eVidya programme. The channel is designed for teachers, Anganwadi workers, parents, and children aged 3-6 years, with emphasis on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills as outlined in the National Education Policy 2020. The channel will broadcast educational content in multiple Indian languages to reach children across diverse linguistic backgrounds.

DIKSHA 2.0, the upgraded version of the Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing platform, was also unveiled. The new version features structured lessons, adaptive assessments, performance feedback, and AI-powered tools including Read Aloud, Closed Captioning, and translation capabilities in 12 languages. These features aim to make digital learning more accessible and personalised for students and teachers across the country.

Virtual Reality (VR) labs were introduced at four demonstration schools in Ajmer (Rajasthan), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), and Mysuru (Karnataka), enabling immersive learning experiences in science and social studies subjects.
