Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh launched the SUJVIKA AI portal on February 24, 2026, marking the 40th foundation day of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). The AI-driven biotech product data portal was developed in collaboration with ABLE (Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises).
The portal is a Trade Statistics Digital Intelligence Platform that presents authenticated biotechnology product import data in a structured and accessible format. It provides sector-wise insights into biochemical products, industrial enzymes and other biotechnology imports, helping researchers, startups and industry identify high-value imports, assess import dependency and prioritise indigenisation and R&D efforts. India's bioeconomy reached about USD 165.7 billion in 2024.
