India's Economic Survey 2025-26, presented in Parliament, reframes climate action as a development-first strategy, placing adaptation, resilience, and human welfare at the centre of policy design. The survey highlights that non-fossil power now stands at 51.93% of installed capacity as of December 2025. Budget allocation for Ministry of New and Renewable Energy increased by ₹7,400 crore to ₹26,549 crore for 2025-26. India aims for renewable energy-based capacity shares of 55.20% by 2026-27 and 66.22% by 2031-32 as per NEP 2023.
