Approximately 65 lakh (6.5 million) parents participated in simultaneous parent-teacher meetings across all Rajasthan government schools on January 23, 2026, coinciding with Basant Panchami celebrations. The Mega PTM was organised under the Nipun Rajasthan programme, which is aligned with the Central Government's National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat) launched in 2021 to ensure foundational literacy and numeracy for all children by the end of Grade 3.

Schools across all 41 districts of Rajasthan conducted literacy and numeracy skill demonstrations for children enrolled in grades 1 through 5, showcasing foundational learning outcomes achieved under the NIPUN framework. Parents were given detailed briefings on their children's academic progress, areas requiring improvement, and strategies they can adopt at home to support learning. Teachers engaged parents in interactive activities demonstrating the NIPUN pedagogical approach, including reading exercises, number games, and activity-based learning modules.

The event also marked the launch of dedicated reading corners in government schools across the state and the distribution of specially designed learning kits containing educational materials, storybooks, and worksheets in Hindi. Rajasthan's initiative is considered among the largest single-day PTM exercises conducted anywhere in the country, reflecting the state government's commitment to improving foundational education quality in government schools. The Education Department announced that such mega PTM events would be conducted quarterly going forward.
