The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) and SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd (SVCL) signed a contribution agreement on November 10, 2025, operationalising the ₹1,000 crore venture capital fund for India's space sector.

The Union Cabinet had approved the fund in October 2024, and SEBI gave final approval on October 31, 2025. The fund will deploy ₹150 crore in FY 2025-26, followed by ₹250 crore annually for three years and ₹100 crore in FY 2029-30. Investment targets include launch vehicles, satellites, payload systems, earth observation tools, and communication platforms. India's space economy is projected to reach $44 billion by 2033.
