Rajasthan will host the 5th edition of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 from November 24 to December 5, 2025. Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya announced the event, which will be jointly organised by Poornima University and Rajasthan University in Jaipur. The games will be spread across seven cities — Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur — making it the largest geographically distributed KIUG edition yet.
PIB's opening release recorded 4,448 athletes from 222 universities competing in 23 medal sports including Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Hockey, Kabaddi, Mallakhamb, Shooting, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, and Yogasana. A 19-member Organising and Coordination Committee has been constituted with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma as Chairman and the Union Sports Minister as Co-Chairman. The event is seen as a major platform for identifying grassroots sporting talent for future national and international competitions.
