The Ministry of Defence signed capital acquisition contracts worth ₹4,666 crore for 5.56 mm Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Carbines and 48 Heavy Weight Torpedoes for Kalvari-class submarines. The carbine contract worth ₹2,770 crore covers over 4.25 lakh carbines for the Indian Army and Navy, to be supplied by Bharat Forge and PLR Systems.

The torpedo contract worth ₹1,896 crore was signed with WASS Submarine Systems SRL of Italy for supply and integration of 48 heavyweight torpedoes for the six Kalvari-class (Project-75) submarines. Delivery of torpedoes is expected to begin in April 2028. The deals strengthen India's defence procurement with a focus on both indigenous manufacturing and strategic capability building.
