Veer Bal Diwas 2025: President Droupadi Murmu Confers Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on 20 Children from 18 States and UTs; PM Modi Addresses Nation at Bharat Mandapam

India observed Veer Bal Diwas nationally on December 26, 2025, commemorating the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas — Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, younger sons of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji — whose unparalleled sacrifice in 1704 continues to inspire generations. The national programme was organised by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in two parts. In the morning at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, at 10:00 AM, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2025 on 20 children drawn from 18 States and Union Territories. The awards recognised outstanding achievement in six categories: Bravery, Art and Culture, Environment, Social Service, Science and Technology, and Sports. This was followed by the national-level programme at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed children, youth, dignitaries, and school students at around 12:30 PM. The Prime Minister, delivering the keynote address, emphasised the unique courage and unwavering faith shown by the Sahibzadas and underscored the responsibility of young citizens in building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi delivered the welcome address. Cultural performances reflecting India's heritage and themes of bravery were showcased, and the proceedings were telecast live through NIC Webcast, DD News and the Ministry's YouTube channel, extending the reach of the observance nationwide.
