Under Article 317 of the Constitution, the Chairperson or any member of a Public Service Commission may be removed by the President on the ground of misbehaviour after a Supreme Court inquiry and report. The President may also remove such a member if the member is adjudged insolvent, engages during the term in paid employment outside the duties of office, or is unfit to continue because of infirmity of mind or body.
