The India-Russia joint military exercise 'Indra-2025' was held from 6 to 15 October 2025 at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The Indra exercise series, initiated in 2003, alternates between India and Russia; this edition resumed after a gap since 2021 owing to the Russia-Ukraine war.

The primary objective was to practice coordinated counter-terrorism operations. Key activities included: integration of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) for reconnaissance and target acquisition; deployment of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems to neutralise enemy drones; synchronisation of artillery and armoured elements in limited-visibility environments; and air support coordination. The exercise scenario involved simulated terrorist groups seizing a populated area and taking hostages. Indian and Russian troops conducted joint reconnaissance, identified sabotage groups, advanced on military vehicles to cut escape routes, and practised precision UAV strikes. Mahajan Range in Rajasthan regularly hosts such bilateral and multilateral military drills, underpinning Rajasthan's strategic importance in India's defence infrastructure.
