India observed National Post Day on October 10, 2025, honouring the 150+ year legacy of India Post, the world's largest postal network. Organised under Post Office Act XVII in 1854, India Post operates 164,999 post offices as on 31.03.2025, making it the most extensive postal system in the world.

India Post has transformed from a traditional mail carrier to a financial services provider, offering postal savings, insurance (Postal Life Insurance, est. 1884), money transfer, and banking services through India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). National Post Day falls on October 10 to mark the anniversary of India's admission to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874.
