Rajasthan Major IAS Reshuffle: 65 Officers Transferred, Tina Dabi Moved to Tonk

The Rajasthan government carried out one of its largest administrative reshuffles in recent years on April 1, 2026, transferring 65 IAS officers across the state. The reshuffle also replaced 25 district collectors, signalling a major overhaul of the state's administrative machinery. IAS officer Tina Dabi, who gained nationwide recognition as the UPSC Civil Services topper of 2015, has been transferred from the post of District Collector, Barmer, to District Collector, Tonk. This marks her third stint as a district collector. Her sister Ria Dabi has been appointed as Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), one of the most influential administrative positions in the state. Tonk is considered a politically sensitive district and is associated with former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot's political base, making Tina Dabi's posting there strategically significant. The reshuffle also saw a near-complete overhaul of the Chief Minister's Secretariat, with all officials except the Principal Secretary being replaced. Key districts such as Jaipur, Sikar, Phalodi, Baran, and Bikaner saw changes in their district collectors. The state government stated that the transfers were aimed at improving governance, enhancing administrative efficiency, and ensuring that experienced officers are placed in critical positions. Administrative reshuffles at this scale in Rajasthan are significant as they directly impact ground-level implementation of government schemes, law and order, and development projects across the state's 41 districts.
