A state-level police conference on the theme Policing in Developed India was organised at the Rajasthan Police Academy in Jaipur on January 8 and 9, 2026. The two-day conference brought together senior police officials, district superintendents, and policy experts to deliberate on modernising policing practices in alignment with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

Chief Secretary V. Srinivas delivered the keynote presentation on the conference theme, while Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma highlighted the roadmap for the future of policing in Rajasthan. Key discussions centred on the use of AI and data analytics in crime prevention, strengthening community policing through the Jan Bhagidari model, and implementation of new criminal laws including Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.

The conference addressed cybersecurity challenges facing Rajasthan, where digital crimes have increased significantly with the expansion of internet connectivity in rural areas. Officials discussed establishment of cyber police stations in every district and training programmes for digital forensic capabilities. The conference also focused on border area policing given Rajasthan's 1,070 km international border with Pakistan.

Conference outcomes included recommendations for modernising the state police force through technology adoption, improved training infrastructure, and enhanced coordination between police and intelligence agencies. Participating officials committed to implementing community-centric policing approaches that build public trust while maintaining robust law enforcement capabilities.
