The newly raised Bhairav Light Commando Battalion made its maiden appearance at the 77th Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path. The Bhairav Battalion is a contingent of the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment, designed as a specialised assault infantry unit that bridges the capabilities of conventional Infantry and Special Forces. The battalion was raised following the success of Operation Sindoor, announced by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. The unit is trained for rapid deployment, close-quarters combat, and operations in varied terrains. Bactrian camels featured in the Indian Defence Forces' animal contingent at the parade.
